Paul says, “In every thing give thanks.”
And so we should. But
I confessed to a trusted friend once,
“Sometimes I’m grumpy.”
She looked startled and said,
“So?!”
I had never considered that maybe
My human imperfection was not
Complete failure of all I believed.
I take myself less seriously now.
There’s freedom in that.
