When I was twenty and my friend was forty,
She went to a spiritual director.
“She will just pray for me.
Do you know what that feels like?
To have someone pray for me?”
I have had people pray for me
For the various bits of life that need prayer.
So have we all.
But to have someone pray
More globally, for the direction of life,
For the work of the Spirit:
Do you know what that feels like?
I do. Now.
