God With Us

Matthew, after his genealogy,
Begins with the angel telling Joseph
That Mary will have a son of the Holy Spirit,
That his name will be called Emmanuel,

God with us.

Matthew, after telling of Jesus’
Life, death, resurrection,
Ends with Jesus telling his followers
I am with you always,
Even unto the end of the world.

Jesus, God with us,
Emmanuel, unto the end of the world.
