Needy II

A friend once asked me for help.
I thought the context ridiculous
And have harbored a bit of bitterness
Over both the request and my acquiescence.

I told this story to another friend.
This friend, when later in need of comfort,
Immediately feared she had become a burden.

Be sure your sins will find you out.

No, my friend. I am older now.
I realize the value of community.
And if you’re the one in need today,
My turn will come.

A friendship is an honor,
And I thank you for both the honor and the
Friendship.
