After a summer of hanging out with friends,
And a few long dinners together, just us two,
Phil wondered where I saw this going.
I could see us getting married someday.
And that is the difference between us two.
You could see yourself marrying me someday.
I could see myself marrying you tomorrow.
That was our first conversation about our relationship.
We told this story to a friend,
And she laughed and said,
I know Phil, and so of course that’s the way
The conversation would go.
