When, near the end, free Narnians are enslaved,
Talking trees cut down,
They submit because they don’t understand Aslan.
“He’s not a tame lion.”
And because it had been seven generations
Since Aslan appeared,
And because the animals desired faithfulness,
They behave beautifully, yet wrong.
Aslan would not destroy his handiwork.
Aslan would not enslave his people.
And though it’s true that he is not a tame lion,
He still acts in accord with his character.
