Celebrate

Though I have never heard anyone in real life use
Fructify,
I occasionally read it,
Usually when writers don’t want to use the word
Pregnant.
All those Victorian-era inhibitions.
(What a world we live in.)

I would like it, though, were God to
Make fruitful and productive
Our farm,
Our labors,
Our minds,
Our hearts.

All true.

But I also sort of just want to celebrate that word
Fructify.

And now I have.
