God Planned It

I thought I had a plan for my day.
I liked it.
Visit one, visit two, visit three.

Visit one went off perfectly.
We wished it could last longer.
But off we went to visit two
Only to have that

Cancelled.

How disappointed my plans
Changed.

But then a long-time friend,
In such different circles as to feel
Long-lost, unexpectedly came down,
As I’d asked her to for months.

And visit three had an extra friend join in.

I thought I had a plan for my day.
I liked it.
It ended up different,
But perfect.
