And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

In context, Jesus’ followers
Were to avoid language of
Rabbi, Father, Master.

In our little enclave of followers,
I have thought of myself as a mother.
This is wrong.

Better to think of myself as a sister,
Maybe an older sister,
For we are all children.

I mentally recalibrate
Appropriate responsibility.
God is a better parent.
