My friend, a perfectionist,
Asked how I deal with that pressure.
I think I have made progress this year,
In learning to be okay with not being perfect,
So we talked about my journey.
Lucky me, I got to exercise this learning
When I burned our lunch,
And felt like I dropped every ball I was juggling
And wanted to do nothing but hide away.
Put into practice my journey.
Sometimes meals get burned. Move on.
So I boiled potatoes and did the next thing.
It wasn’t the perfect response, I suppose,
But it was good enough. And that is enough.
