As I sat in peaceful silence with my sleeping friend,
A third joined us and woke the sleeper,
Unintentionally, I’m sure.
Three was too many in the room,
So I retired to the lobby,
Determined to get in my prayer and scripture.
Sometime later, the third left,
But I stayed in the lobby,
Uncertain whether to return to my tired friend.
In the end, I stayed where I was,
And I remain uncertain if that was correct,
But that feels like a right analogy of the entire situation:
Sometimes there isn’t a right answer.
