Got to love a place where you have to street park your Porsche and Beamer.

Carmel-by-the-Sea charms me.
Spanish mission architecture side by side with
Mid-century modernism, regular suburbia, Bavaria.
Large blocks, brick, cedar shake siding, adobe.
Roses, wisteria, bougainvillea.

But as much as I love to visit,
I would not want to live,
And I am thankful that my Virginia home
Suits me so perfectly that I prefer it
Over the five million dollar option on the beach.

Not that I could afford that anyway,
So good thing all around.
