Amid the overweight bridal party,
The older locals with their designer dogs,
The surfers who sit on the boards and go up and down,
And us, a normal family with children and parents,
A young Adonis ran by.
Perfect body, perfect stride.
It made me happy to be here in the off season.
It’s easier to feel average-looking when competing with retirees
Than with gods.
