I wrote 60 short biographies,
The choice a bit whimsical at first,
More sober in the end,
Filling in the gaps.
Some of the biographies came hard and slow,
Some short and quick,
And I had no sense of the quality
From one to the next.
I feared what I might find
When the editing process began.
So I was delighted when I started reading
To find that these sketches entertained me.
What a joy to see how they occasionally overlapped,
How interesting I found them.
