In a basketball sweep of the finals
(Which had been predicted,
Though not, of course, guaranteed)
I thought of the Cleveland fans
Who had paid big money
To see a home team that was,
Yes, one point ahead once,
But mostly trailed
And trailed
Twenty-one points,
Twenty-three points behind.
Will the true fans feel sick for a week?
Or did they feel privileged to watch
Amazing athletes, if not an amazing game?
What is it like to spend so much
For such a disappointment?
