My weekly news magazine,
Some books on the history of science—
Both delight me, inform me.
Both assume no one of intelligence yet believes in God.
They exude a subtle, constant assumption
That ignorant people were churched in times past
But today we know better
As we and our culture evolve to a higher understanding.
I grow weary of feeling patronized.
