At my Grandma’s, growing up,
We ate chocolate sprinkles on bread.
I tried that for a month or two.
Surfeit of sweetness. I took a break.
At my own house, growing up,
We ate cinnamon sugar on toast.
When the bread is browned,
And the butter melts in,
And the cinnamon sugar is saturated—
I have yet to grow tired of this treat.
