After years of various methods,
Here’s what I do now
When boxes with 70 books or so
Come to me to review.
I flip them open, one by one,
Not to read. Not at first.
If a mystery, I might read the end.
Disappointing, or bait-and-switch?
Moving on! If young adult,
I check for language and sex. Most have it.
Nonfiction? Readability and interest.
I can eliminate half immediately.
The other half?
Those I look forward to reading!
