Fracture

So often I’ve seen
Broken bones,
Legs in casts,
Heard reports of torn ACLs,
Torn rotator cuffs.

None of this seemed terribly
Trying.
And maybe for many it’s not?

But I think about the farm.
We live on a gravel drive,
Down a dirt road.
To maneuver with crutches
Seems quite the hard task.

Ten weeks in a thousand square feet …

A lot of constriction.
