Everything Changes

Two friends came down,
Just graduated.

And though they will both be here
Another year
Or two,
They will no longer live together,
They will not both be in school.

Everything changes.

And after they left,
I thought about how they have been in my life,
And how this day spent
Talking about weddings
And sharing strawberry shortcake
Will never be repeated.

Reminded again to make the most
Of every opportunity,

Because the opportunities are precious

And few.
