Driving to get my son,
We halted behind a bus.
I have tried to remember
To be less impatient,
That maybe such pauses
Have a purpose.
Thankfully, the driver
Soon pulled off the road.
The van in front of us
Drove on.
Suddenly, I saw a small deer
Dash into the side of the van
And somersault. It sprang up,
Dashed back into the woods,
Ran parallel to the road
Where Abraham pointed it out,
Then dashed between the van
And us, to reach the other side.
I’ve never seen anything like it.
I’m thankful for protection.
