Today is the

International Day of

Prayer for the Persecuted Church.

Our pastor called the local missions agency

This week to see if there was a speaker,

And the woman who answered the phone said,

“I’ll come.”

Seventy-two, former 70-hour-a-week executive

Up in Falls Church

Who complained in her small group of being

Bored in retirement.

One of the group said,

“I can fix that.”

And so this former executive

Answered the phones, and did what needed to be done,

Until the Lord said to her,

“It’s time to speak.”

And our pastor called, more than a little last minute,

But it was just the right time,

And she came.
