The greatest obstacle to living is expectancy, which hangs upon tomorrow and loses today.
I realize that Seneca has more fame
Than I could ever hope,
And yet I question his quote.
Is it not more fun to savor the coming joy?
When I prepare for a trip,
I appreciate the anticipation;
Rather than diminishing my today,
It enhances it.
Actually, this is true for a trip
Or eternity.
There was a song on a Christian radio channel yesterday, basically, Jesus is coming soon, all will be OK, forget about today. I heard , it's OK to be a lazy Christian because we're out of here. Maybe that's what Seneca was about. You have balance and enjoy today, others are so future focused that they are useless today.
